My name is Deborah Robinson and I live in the small market town of Ulverston in Cumbria. I specialise in stoneware animal forms, including dogs and native wildlife but I have recently been working on a series of local human characters, inspired by nostalgic images from Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.
I try to distill character and personality into my creations whilst still maintaining a realistic quality about my work.
It seems reasonable to expect that beauty will emerge from a fusion of the individual character and culture of the potter, with the nature of his materials.

I have always loved Art and have been creating with clay in my spare time for over 16 years .
During this time I have joined several inspirational pottery classes, which have taught me the varied techniques in hand building, throwing and glazing.
3 years ago I was lucky enough to attend a course at The Leach Pottery in St Ives which gave me the inspiration and confidence to invest in a wheel and kiln of my own and diversify from Engineering Designer to potter.
I now fuse my technical design ability with my love of clay to create my ceramics.
I am also a member of Northern Potters Association.
